We were recently invited to visit to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom and had an absolute blast. It’s such a great way to see the park and do SO much in a very limited time. Which got me thinking… is this the right experience for everyone? Answer the questions below to figure out if this is the right way for you to do Disney during the holidays! If you’re already planning your visit, make sure you check out my post about how to get the most out of your time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! I also have a post about my seven favorite ways to celebrate the holidays at Disney!
What do you want to get out of your time there?
Do you want to do alltherides? Meet a bunch of characters? Get complimentary treats? Then this is definitely the event for you. Fewer people in the park means you get way more accomplished. On the other hand, if you’re more of a stroll-through-the-parks person this might not be the best use of your money. There’s so much holiday fun happening that you’ll want to get your money’s worth and see as much of it as possible
How old are your kids?
If they’re under the age of 2, you might want to think about visiting once they’re a little older. If you do decide to take kids under 3 they are free (yay!), but they generally slow you down a bit with diaper changes, feedings, and they may not be able to hang as long as older kids can… at least without a meltdown.
Are you an Annual Passholder?
If you’re not, this is a great way to get the full experience (and then some!) of the Magic Kingdom during the holidays without paying the full ticket price. If you’re an Annual Passholder and you can go all the time during the holidays to see the decorations you may not get as much bang for your buck.
Do you have a flexible schedule?
You can save money on tickets by going on nights that have lower attendance (like weeknights early in the season when school is still in session). The Christmas Season is one of the busiest times of the year at Disney (and why not? It’s gorgeous!), so going to Very Merry is a great way to experience the park with a much smaller crowd!
Bottom line: You should definitely plan on going to Very Merry at some point, it’s just a matter of choosing the right time for your family so you get the most magic out of it!
Disclaimer: We were provided free tickets to attend Very Merry, but the opinions in this post are entirely my own.
