With a second baby there’s just as much anticipation (if not more!) over the big gender reveal. Jon and I had a little get-together with my sister’s family and some of our friends for Graham’s gender reveal and it was fun, but this time we decided to keep it a little more low-key. We still had SO much fun finding out and I think we had a pretty unique idea so I wanted to share with y’all how we did it! If you haven’t seen my post on my first trimester, check that out here! And if you want to take some maternity photos after you find out baby’s gender, here are some of the best photo spots around Orlando!
We went to the doctor for our anatomy ultrasound, but told the tech we didn’t want to find out in the office. We asked her to put the results in an envelope. She told us when we needed to look away from the screen, but it was so much fun getting to see our newest addition for the first time in several weeks!
We took our envelope to one of our favorite local stores, Tugboat and the Bird (not sponsored, just love the store!) on Park Avenue in Winter Park. We knew they would be excited to help us with our gender reveal and we were not disappointed! The ladies were so sweet and so happy to be a part of our fun reveal!
In the store, we browsed for a bit and decided on two picture frames – one pink and one blue – to take to the counter. We left our credit card and the envelope with the ladies who were helping us and told them we would go for a walk for a while so they could bag up the correct frame.
When we got back, they had the frame beautifully gift wrapped for us! Their regular packaging alone is very nice, but this was above and beyond!
We took the bag down the street to one of our favorite little bistros, 310 Park South, and after we ordered we opened the bag together to reveal that we were having a …
BOY! We’re so excited that Graham will have a little brother in a few months! His name will be Foster Baxley. Foster was just a name we really liked and we thought it was cool that it’s very unique – it’s not in the top 1,000 baby names based on the data that the Social Security Administration puts out! Baxley is the name of the tiny town in southern Georgia where several generations of my family are from. We can’t wait to meet this new little guy soon!
Did you find out your baby’s gender before he or she was born? What was your reveal like? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
