A visit to Disney can be hectic and most people don’t take time to slow down and enjoy the parks because they want to get as much as they can out of every second of their time there. And I get it. It’s not cheap, so you want to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. What people don’t realize is that stopping for a few minutes to regroup, grab a quick snack or cold drink, and sit down can be just what they need to really enjoy their visit.
With that in mind, I’ve picked out my favorite places to chill in all four WDW parks so you can know the best hidden spots too! Make sure you check out my favorite secret spots in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom after you learn about Epcot in this post, as well as the best places to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks without a crowd!
EPCOT is probably the most “adult” park (though I loved it, even as a kid!), so it automatically feels a bit more relaxed. But it can still get crazy, especially during the Flower and Garden (another post here!) and Food and Wine festivals. There are two places that I’ve never seen crowded and are perfect for relaxing.
Morocco
The winding streets in Morocco are not only gorgeous, but usually empty. I think the main reason is that people don’t realize they wind around so much. A few other pavilions are like this (China, Canada and the UK in particular), but Morocco always seems the least busy. There are benches all around, some covered and some not, depending on what you’re looking for. There’s also a bathroom, for added convenience.
Innoventions Area
Behind the EPCOT Character Spot and the Coca Cola Cool Club is an air conditioned space that’s often used for special events, but open even when there aren’t events going on. It’s nice and cool and there are tables and restrooms and lots of open space to let the kids run around for a minute. This would be a great place to wait out a summer storm!
What are your favorite places to chill at EPCOT?
Great ideas! Places like that with so many crowds, so much standing, so much heat and chaos, wear me out. These are beautiful little places so you can actually break up and ENJOY the day instead of feeling like you must carry out a mission for mandatory fun. Thanks for sharing!
Exactly! Despite being an Annual Passholder, I’m not a big fan of crowds. This is the way I get around that “ugh” feeling on the busy days!
Great ideas. There is so much to do at Disney–it never gets old!
Agreed, Beth! I’ve been there more times than I can count and still look forward to it every time!
The Innoventions concourse is our hideaway of choice! We love that they still have the timeline of Epcot’s history up on the wall there, even if its display doesn’t exactly have the typical Disney flair.
Yes! Such a neat place and a great way to cool off and learn some Disney facts!
We were just in Disney, after following cheerleaders around most of the week, grandpa & I enjoyed a day to ourselves at Epcot. They were having the Flower & Garden Festival & the flowers were so lovely. It was a special treat to see the special shows about France & China. You can find some lovely quiet places at Epcot!
Now everybody knows! No seriously the Moroccan pavilion is a phenomenal place to chill and regroup. This place does the best job of transporting you to the host country of all of the International lagoon locales. The tiles and fountains all came from Morocco and put you in mind of the Alhambra in Granada- without the jet lag.
What a great idea for when you just want to escape the crowds and breathe for a minute. Thanks for the tip!
